The 14th year of the Department's beloved winter holiday celebration, a tribute to the culture and landmarks of Los Angeles, kicks off tonight with Councilmember LaBonge flipping the symbolic switch. Thereafter, through closing at 10:00 p.m., the one-mile lighting display will be open exclusively to bicyclists - and tricyclists with parental accompanyment - for a special one-night-only preview.
On Friday, December 4, the festival will open for pedestrians only, through December 17. The festival will open for motor vehicles on Friday, December 18 and run nightly through December 30.
Festival hours will be 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. daily. Free parking will be available in the L.A. Zoo parking lot on a first come, first served basis. For more information, please visit the festival website or call the information line at (213) 367-1255.
The 14th Annual LADWP Holiday Light Festival is made possible through a collaboration between LADWP, the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, the Autry National Center, the L.A. Zoo, CalTrans, KOST 103.5FM, Radio Disney, KLVE 107.5FM and all of the workers who bring the festival to life.
